This important tourism region is located in the southwest of Turkey, 42 km south of Antalya. This region has grown very fast in this field, especially within the last 15 years and has added new 5 star hotels and vacation villages into its structure.
Besides the great holiday villages around the district, many big and little hotels are in a position to answer all kinds of accommodation requirements.
During the trip from Antalya to Kemer, which takes 40 minutes, pine trees will accompany you. At one side where is the Taurus Mountains will be on the other side and many impressive panoramas worthwhile to see, will fascinate you. Then you will arrive at the center of Kemer.. Kemer, at the feet of the western Taurus Mountain, extending down the 52 km long coast, seems to mix up with the blue of the Mediterranean and the green of the Taurus pine trees. Many bays and small natural harbors are present in its indented coast line.

Kemer also offers many opportunties to those who intent to stay away from crowded places. You can participate to boat tours in the turquoise colored coasts of the Mediterranean sea or you can experience different excitements in the tracks of the Taurus mountains by joining one of the jeep safaris.

A modern marina with a capacity of 320 yachts makes Kemer also an important yachting tourism center. The marina and the 52 km long coastline has fulfilled the criteria set by the European Foundation for Environmental Education (FEEK) and obtained the right for the Blue Flag. The spaciousness of The sea and the pine tree covered high mountains will give you a comfortable peacefull feeling in the hot summer days of the Mediterranean climate. The average air temperatures in Kemer are 10°C in winter and 28°C in summer. With its 300 sunny days in the year, Kemer provides you a wide range of time to select your holiday period. How many places in the world do you know, where you can go for skiing and have fun at the beach in the same day?.

International Kemer Underwater Days (IKUD) is a week of activities organized jointly by the Kemer (KETAV) Foundation for the Promotion of or Underwater Archeological Research Association (ASAD) and Y PRODUCTION, whose goal is to introduce to the world the natural and the archeological beauties of the deep waters of Antalya in the Mediterranean.
The Antalya coast of the Mediterranean has hosted numerous civilizations for thousands of years, who maintained their commercial and political relationships mostly through naval routes. As a result of this, traces of these civilizations left in the depths of the blue waters as well as the natural beauties of the area await to be discovered.

THE REGIONS WHERE THE CONTEST MADE

Three Islands (Üç Adalar)
Three Islands, which are in distance of one hour with a boat from Kemer, is among the most beautiful diving regions. The region, which is suitable for all levels of diving for divers in various depths from 3 meters to 40 meters, is known with its flora and fauna. This good composition which is formed by colorful fishes and sea livings is completed by impressive underwater caves. Three Islands are a diving region where divers come to Antalya and absolutely want to see, and responses the wishes of divers with its groupers and gride lain under each stone.

Pırasalı Island - Çoban Bay Region
Çoban Bay and Pırasalı Island are located in territory of Province of Antalya, District of Kemer, in the north of Suluada, and 2 km west of ancient city, Olympus. Pırasalı Island and Çoban Bay are located by each other and a strait, which is two hundred meters long, is located between them. Çoban Bay, which is hidden in rear of a hill named Çobanlı and located very difficult position to be seen from sea, is a secured seaport which is closed much of the winds dominating the region with its pot form and location. The eastern of the Bay is forming the north point of peninsula in high seas where Bay is located and constitutes dangerous position for the ships in periods of flowing and storm. In the region, where the prohibition of diving was lifted last year, casting anchor of boats and diving were realized taking into consideration of possible archeological objects. Due to the fact that prohibition has been lifted recently, has preserved the untouched and unknown peculiarities of region. The region, which is far away shore building and one of the untouched places of the Mediterranean, will be introduced to whole world from the objective of contenders.

EMERGENCY STATE PLANNING

The closest place to Three Islands is Tekirova. An ambulance was available is Martı Myra Holiday village. The closest place where a car could enter is Sazak port. But, due to the fact that road was more suitable from Olympus shore ambulance was available there. 4 units of team were kept available by two persons underwater and these teams continuously wandered underwater and checked the contenders. Besides in both boats where the diving was realized, 2 persons of emergency aid team kept available. For emergency aid a speed boat was kept available over the divers in moving action. In speed boat of hospital an emergency doctor was kept available. For the conditions such as decompression and embolism when the pressure chamber is required Robinson Club pressure chamber was kept available. In case the solution is not maintained the precaution of sending to GATA in Ankara to Bodrum is taken. In emergency state program is planned to be active after 30 seconds upon the incident is informed.

Many press members watched Kemer 1st International Underwater Days Image Producing Contests, of which main frames mentioned above, on a boat prepared for themselves. 39 contenders of contest enjoyed to see depth the historical and natural beauties of Kemer coasts of the Mediterranean.
During the organization days, archeological richness of region was introduced with many activities except for contests.
