Six to nine day Turkey tours from Magnificent Travel cover Istanbul, Cappadocia, Ephesus, and Pamukkale in a single guided itinerary. Eight days is the most popular length in this range, combining all four regions. All packages include a licensed English-speaking guide, hotels with daily breakfast, domestic flights within Turkey, entrance fees, and private airport transfers.
One week in Turkey covers three of the country's seven UNESCO World Heritage Sites: the historic areas of Istanbul (listed 1985), Goreme National Park and the Rock Sites of Cappadocia (listed 1985), and the Ephesus archaeological site (listed 2015). These three sites are connected by domestic flights totalling under 3 hours of air travel.
Destinations Covered in 6 to 9 Day Turkey Tours
Istanbul provides the program's first 2 days: Hagia Sophia (537 AD), the Blue Mosque (1616), Topkapi Palace (1453), the Grand Bazaar (1461), the Spice Bazaar (1664), and a Bosphorus cruise. A domestic flight to Kayseri (1 hour 15 minutes) reaches Cappadocia for 2 nights: the Goreme Open-Air Museum, Derinkuyu underground city (85 metres deep, 8 levels), Pasabag Monks Valley, and the optional hot air balloon at sunrise. A domestic flight to Izmir or a scenic drive south reaches Ephesus: the Celsus Library facade (2nd century AD), the Great Theatre (seating 25,000), and the Temple of Hadrian. Pamukkale follows on the same day or overnight: white calcium carbonate terraces (2.7 km) and the Hierapolis necropolis and theatre.
Suggested Route: 8-Day Turkey Classic
Day 1: Arrive Istanbul, transfer to hotel. Day 2: Istanbul full day (Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi, Grand Bazaar). Day 3: Istanbul morning (Bosphorus cruise, Spice Bazaar), fly Kayseri afternoon. Day 4: Cappadocia (Goreme Open-Air Museum, Pasabag, Derinkuyu), optional balloon pre-dawn. Day 5: Cappadocia morning, fly Izmir, transfer to Selcuk. Day 6: Ephesus full day (Celsus Library, Great Theatre, Virgin Mary House). Day 7: Drive Pamukkale (travertines, Hierapolis Theatre, Necropolis). Day 8: Fly Istanbul or direct home from Izmir.
6-Day vs 9-Day Comparison
Six days: Istanbul (2 nights) plus Cappadocia (2 nights) plus 1 day on the Aegean coast. Tight but covers all main sites if well-paced. Seven days: same as above with one additional day for Ephesus and Pamukkale separately. Eight days: adds a full Aegean coast day and removes the rushed feeling on transfer days. Nine days: can add Antalya (2 hours by road from Pamukkale) or extend Cappadocia to 3 nights for the Rose Valley hike and Ihlara Canyon.
Best Time for a One-Week Turkey Tour
April through June and September through October are ideal. Balloon flights in Cappadocia operate reliably. The Acropolis at Ephesus avoids peak summer heat. Pamukkale pools have consistent water levels. July and August: Ephesus reaches 36 to 40 degrees Celsius by 11 am; visit before 9 am or after 4 pm. January and February bring possible snow to Cappadocia, which many travellers find appealing for the landscape photography.
Related Itineraries
For a shorter trip: 3 to 5 day Turkey tours cover Istanbul and Cappadocia as a minimum. For longer itineraries including the Turkish Riviera: 10 to 14 day Turkey tours add Antalya, Fethiye, and the coast. Individual city program: Istanbul travel packages. Full overview on the Turkey tours page.

A standard 8-day Turkey tour covers Istanbul (Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, Grand Bazaar, Bosphorus), Cappadocia (Goreme Open-Air Museum, Derinkuyu, cave hotel, optional balloon), Ephesus (Celsus Library, Great Theatre), and Pamukkale (travertines, Hierapolis). All four regions are connected by domestic flights included in the package price.
Eight days covers the core highlights at a comfortable pace: 2 nights Istanbul, 2 nights Cappadocia, 1 night Ephesus, 1 night Pamukkale, and 2 transfer/arrival days. Six days is possible but requires efficient pacing. Ten days or more allows the Turkish Riviera as well.
Eight-day private tours cost approximately 1,400 to 2,200 USD per person based on double occupancy, depending on hotel category, group size, and inclusions. Small group fixed-date departures are typically 25 to 35 percent less per person. Contact us for a current price for your travel dates.
Yes. Domestic flights within Turkey (Istanbul to Kayseri for Cappadocia, and Kayseri to Izmir for the Aegean coast, or a return to Istanbul at the end) are included in all packages requiring them. Only your international flights from your home country are not included.
Seven days covers Istanbul and Cappadocia comfortably, with 3 to 4 days remaining for the Aegean coast. If you only want Istanbul and Cappadocia, 5 to 6 days is sufficient. Seven days becomes the right length when Ephesus and Pamukkale are added to the route.
Yes, on packages of 7 days or more. Packages of 6 days typically cover Istanbul and Cappadocia only. From 7 days, Ephesus is added; from 8 days, both Ephesus and Pamukkale are included as separate full-day programs.
Both options are available. Private tours depart on your chosen dates with a vehicle and licensed guide exclusively for your group. Small group tours join fixed-date departures with 8 to 14 passengers. Private tours cost more but allow flexible pacing and personal itinerary adjustments.
Most nationalities require a Turkish e-Visa obtained online at evisa.gov.tr before travel. The fee is approximately 50 USD for US, UK, and EU citizens. The visa is valid for 90 days within a 180-day period. Turkish citizens and some nationalities are exempt. Confirm requirements for your passport before booking.
Yes. The hot air balloon flight is available as an add-on on all packages that include Cappadocia. It costs approximately 180 to 350 USD per person and lasts 1 hour at sunrise. It is not included in the standard package price due to weather dependency. Licensed operators offer rebooking or refunds for weather cancellations.
The most booked 8-day route is: Istanbul (2 nights, with the Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi, Grand Bazaar, and Bosphorus cruise), Cappadocia (2 nights, with the Goreme Open-Air Museum, Derinkuyu, and optional balloon), Ephesus (1 night, with a full site visit and the Virgin Mary House), and Pamukkale (1 night, with the travertines and Hierapolis Theatre). Transfer days are the first and last days.
