Main Places to Visit in Turkey

Istanbul

Most Turkey Tours begin in Istanbul. Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, Basilica Cistern, and the Grand Bazaar are among the main sights, while a Bosphorus cruise offers a different view of the city between Europe and Asia.

Cappadocia

Cappadocia is known for its valleys, fairy chimneys, cave churches, underground cities, and sunrise balloon flights. Göreme Open-Air Museum is one of the main historical sites, and we normally recommend spending at least two nights in the region.

Ephesus

At Ephesus, you can walk through the remains of one of the best-preserved ancient cities in the region, including the Library of Celsus, Great Theatre, and Temple of Hadrian. Tours may also include the Terrace Houses and House of the Virgin Mary.

Pamukkale

Pamukkale combines its white thermal terraces with the ancient city of Hierapolis directly above them. Both can be visited together, making it a natural stop on itineraries connecting Ephesus with other parts of Turkey.

Antalya

Antalya is a good addition for travelers who want to combine sightseeing with time on the Mediterranean coast. The old town of Kaleiçi is worth exploring, while Perge, Aspendos, and Side can be visited from the city.

Short on time? Start with our 3–5 Day Turkey Tour Packages. For a broader itinerary, see our 6–9 Day Turkey Tour Packages or 10–14 Day Turkey Tour Packages. If you prefer a slower pace or want to see more of the country, explore our 15+ Day Extended Turkey Tours.

When to Visit Turkey

April to June and September to October are popular months for sightseeing across several regions. Summer works well if the Mediterranean coast is part of your itinerary, while winter is quieter and offers a different experience in Istanbul and Cappadocia.

Private, Small Group or Customized?

Private Tours offer more flexibility with timing and sightseeing, while Small Group Tours are a practical choice for travelers who prefer to share guided touring. If the standard itineraries do not quite fit your plans, we can customize the route, hotels, dates, and pace around the way you want to travel.

Planning to visit more than one country? See our Turkey & Greece Tours, Turkey & Egypt Tours, or Multi Country Tours.
