Egypt, Jordan, and Israel combined tours from Magnificent Travel cover Cairo, the Giza Pyramids, a Nile cruise, Petra, Wadi Rum, the Dead Sea, and Jerusalem in itineraries running 14 to 17 days. Every package includes a licensed guide in all three countries, hotel and Nile cruise cabin accommodation with daily breakfast, entrance fees, private vehicle transfers, international flights between Egypt and Jordan, and full assistance with the Jordan-Israel border crossing. This is the most concentrated ancient history and religious heritage circuit in the Middle East and North Africa.
The three countries sit within a geographically compact arc connected by direct flight or road. Cairo to Amman takes 2 hours 10 minutes by air. The Jordan-Israel border crossing at the King Hussein Bridge takes 2 to 3 hours. Jerusalem is 60 km from the Jordan border. The entire circuit from the Pyramids to the Western Wall covers approximately 1,600 km.
Why This Three-Country Circuit Works
Egypt provides the oldest monumental architecture in the world and a 220-km navigable river corridor through temple sites. Jordan provides the best-preserved Nabataean city in the world and the largest protected desert landscape in the country. Israel provides the single highest concentration of significant religious sites per square kilometre on Earth: the Western Wall, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, and the Dome of the Rock are within a single square kilometre in Jerusalem's Old City. The three countries share a historical zone connecting Pharaonic Egypt, Nabataean trade routes, and the origins of three Abrahamic religions.
What Each Country Covers
Egypt (Days 1 to 6)
Cairo is the entry point. The Giza Pyramid Complex, the Sphinx, the Grand Egyptian Museum (opened 2023, 100,000 artefacts, full Tutankhamun collection), and the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square form a 2-day Cairo program. The Nile cruise from Luxor to Aswan covers Karnak Temple Complex (200 hectares), Valley of the Kings (63 tombs), Edfu, Kom Ombo, and the Temple of Philae over 3 to 4 days. Abu Simbel is an optional addition on a 45-minute flight from Aswan.
Jordan (Days 7 to 11)
A direct flight from Cairo to Amman connects the two countries. Jerash (48 km from Amman) provides one of the best-preserved Roman provincial cities in the world. Petra is the centrepiece: the 1.2-km Siq and Treasury facade (1st century BC) are followed by the Street of Facades, Royal Tombs, and optionally the Monastery. Wadi Rum provides a 2-hour 4x4 jeep safari across 720 square kilometres of protected desert. The Dead Sea at 430 metres below sea level provides the transition to Israel.
Israel (Days 12 to 14 or 17)
The border crossing from Jordan to Israel is at the King Hussein Bridge. Jerusalem receives the program for 2 to 3 days: the Western Wall (last retaining wall of the Second Temple, destroyed 70 AD), the Church of the Holy Sepulchre (built over the traditional Crucifixion site, 12th-century Crusader form), the Dome of the Rock (built 691 AD, one of the oldest surviving Islamic structures), the Via Dolorosa, and the Jewish and Armenian quarters. Bethlehem (10 km from Jerusalem) covers the Church of the Nativity (UNESCO, 565 AD). Longer packages add Nazareth, the Sea of Galilee, Capernaum, Masada, and Tel Aviv.
Suggested Route and Duration
14 days: Cairo (2 nights) + Nile cruise (4 nights) + Amman and Jerash (1 night) + Petra (1 night) + Wadi Rum (1 night) + Dead Sea (1 night) + Jerusalem and Bethlehem (3 nights). Covers the core of all three countries.
17 days: Adds Abu Simbel in Egypt, an extra day in Petra, and adds Nazareth, the Sea of Galilee, and Masada in Israel.
Getting Between the Three Countries
Egypt to Jordan: direct flight from Cairo (CAI) to Amman (AMM), 2 hours 10 minutes, included. Jordan to Israel: land transfer via the King Hussein Bridge (Allenby Bridge), managed by Magnificent Travel's local teams on both sides. The crossing takes 2 to 3 hours. Note that an Israeli passport stamp may create entry complications for some countries.
Best Time for the Full Circuit
October through April is the most comfortable period across all three countries. Egypt's outdoor sites avoid summer heat, Jordan's Petra and Wadi Rum are temperate, and Jerusalem's Old City is cool and less crowded. December and January are Egypt's peak cruise season; book well in advance.
