Turkey, Greece, and Egypt combined tours from Magnificent Travel cover Istanbul, Cappadocia, Athens, Santorini, Cairo, the Giza Pyramids, Luxor, and a Nile cruise in itineraries running 16 to 19 days. Every package includes a licensed guide in all three countries, hotels and Nile cruise cabin with breakfast, internal flights, international flights between the three countries, entrance fees, and private transfers. This is the most comprehensive Eastern Mediterranean circuit available.
Three of the world's most significant historical civilisations are within a connected air route. The Ottoman and Byzantine empires in Istanbul, Classical Greece on the Acropolis, and 3,000 years of Pharaonic Egypt along the Nile can be covered in under three weeks without repeating a landscape or monument type.
Why This Three-Country Circuit Works
Istanbul, Athens, and Cairo are 2 to 3 hours apart by direct flight. Adding Greece between Turkey and Egypt does not significantly lengthen the journey. Turkey provides Islamic architecture, Byzantine history, and volcanic landscapes. Greece provides Classical antiquity and Aegean island scenery. Egypt provides the only surviving ancient wonder of the world and one of the largest rivers in Africa as a travel corridor. No other three-country combination in the region delivers this variety in a comparable time frame.
What Each Country Covers
Turkey (Days 1 to 5)
Istanbul is the entry point. The Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, and the Grand Bazaar make up a 2-day program. A domestic flight to Kayseri (1 hour 15 minutes) reaches Cappadocia: Goreme Open-Air Museum and optional hot air balloon for 2 nights. Some packages include 2 nights on the Aegean coast (Ephesus, Pamukkale) before flying to Athens.
Greece (Days 6 to 11)
Athens provides the Acropolis (Parthenon, 438 BC) and the New Acropolis Museum for 2 nights. Santorini follows for 2 to 3 nights covering Oia village, caldera cruise, and the Akrotiri excavation. Mykonos can be added for 1 to 2 additional nights.
Egypt (Days 12 to 16 or 19)
Cairo is the entry point. The Giza Pyramids (Great Pyramid at 138.8 metres), the Sphinx, and the Grand Egyptian Museum (opened 2023, 100,000 artefacts, full Tutankhamun collection) form the Cairo program. A Nile cruise from Luxor to Aswan covers Karnak Temple (200 hectares), Valley of the Kings, Edfu, Kom Ombo, and Philae Temple over 4 days. Abu Simbel can be added by a 45-minute flight from Aswan.
Suggested Route and Duration
16 days: Istanbul (2) + Cappadocia (2) + Athens (2) + Santorini (2) + Cairo (2) + Nile cruise Luxor to Aswan (4). Minimum length for a genuine three-country experience.
19 days: Adds Ephesus and Pamukkale (2 nights) in Turkey, Mykonos (2 nights) in Greece, and Abu Simbel in Egypt. Recommended for first-time visitors to all three countries.
Getting Between the Three Countries
Turkey to Greece: direct flight Istanbul to Athens, 1 hour 30 minutes, included. Greece to Egypt: direct flight Athens to Cairo, 2 hours 15 minutes, included. All three international connections are arranged and documented before departure. Luggage transfers at each airport are coordinated by local Magnificent Travel representatives.
Best Time for the Full Circuit
March through May and September through October suit all three countries. Summer (July and August) brings extreme heat to Luxor and Aswan (up to 48 degrees Celsius) and heavy crowds at the Acropolis. December through February is off-peak in Egypt and quieter at the Athenian archaeological sites.

March through May is the most popular period. Temperatures are manageable in Luxor and Aswan, the Acropolis is not yet at summer heat, and Cappadocia balloons operate reliably. September and October are equally good. Avoid mid-July and August for Egypt: Luxor and Aswan reach 44 to 48 degrees Celsius.
