Morocco tour packages from Magnificent Travel run 3 to 11 days and combine Marrakech, Fes, Chefchaouen, the Sahara Desert at Erg Chebbi, and the Atlas Mountains in a single guided circuit. Every package includes private A/C vehicle with driver, a licensed English-speaking guide, hotel or riad accommodation with daily breakfast, and entrance fees. Packages run as private tours on your chosen dates or as small group departures with up to 14 guests.
Morocco holds nine UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including the medinas of Marrakech, Fes, and Tetouan. The Fes el-Bali medina, the world's largest car-free urban area, has over 9,000 lanes and covers 280 hectares. The Erg Chebbi dunes near Merzouga reach 150 metres in height and are among the highest sand dunes in the Sahara.
Morocco's Main Destinations in Detail
Marrakech
Marrakech is the starting point for most Morocco tours and the country's most internationally recognised city. The Jemaa el-Fna square is the commercial and social centre of the medina. The Bahia Palace (19th century), the Saadian Tombs (16th century), and the Majorelle Garden (restored by Yves Saint Laurent in 1980) are the primary sites. Most packages spend 2 nights in Marrakech.
Fes
Fes holds the Fes el-Bali medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1981. The medina dates to the 9th century and is the world's largest medieval Islamic city. The Chouara Tannery, visible from rooftop terraces, uses the same dyeing methods as the 11th century. The University of al-Qarawiyyin, founded in 859 AD, is recognised by UNESCO as the oldest continuously operating university in the world. Tours typically spend 1 to 2 nights in Fes.
Chefchaouen
Chefchaouen sits in a narrow valley of the Rif Mountains, 3.5 hours from Fes by road. The old town's blue-painted buildings distinguish it from every other Moroccan city. The blue paint dates to the 1930s when Jewish refugees settling in the city introduced the practice. Most itineraries include a half-day to a full day in Chefchaouen.
The Sahara Desert at Erg Chebbi
The Merzouga area near the Algerian border holds Morocco's most accessible Sahara dunes. The Erg Chebbi dunes reach 150 metres. The drive from Fes takes 6 to 7 hours through the Ziz Valley. An optional camel trek at sunset and an overnight in a desert camp with traditional dinner are the standard activities. Desert temperatures at night between November and February drop to near zero.
Ait Benhaddou
Ait Benhaddou is a fortified mud-brick village (ksar) on the Draa Valley route between Marrakech and Ouarzazate. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and has served as a film location for Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia, and Game of Thrones. Most tours stop here for 1 to 2 hours on the Marrakech to Sahara transit.
Choosing the Right Morocco Itinerary
A 3-day Morocco tour covers Marrakech only or a day trip to the Atlas Mountains. A 5-day tour adds either Chefchaouen or the Sahara but not both. The 7 to 8-day tour is the most popular length and fits Marrakech, the Sahara, Fes, and one additional city. The 9 to 11-day tour is recommended for first-time visitors and includes all major destinations at a pace that allows genuine exploration. Two nights in the Sahara and a full day in Fes are the typical enhancements at this length.
Best Time to Travel to Morocco
March through May and September through November are the most comfortable months across all destinations. The Sahara is warm during the day and cool at night. April brings wildflowers to the Atlas foothills.
June through August: Marrakech, Fes, and the Sahara all exceed 40 degrees Celsius in July. The Sahara can reach 48 degrees on the dunes. Chefchaouen and the Atlantic coast are cooler alternatives for summer travel. December through February is Morocco's off-season. Prices are lower by 20 to 30 percent. Sahara days are warm, nights are cold.
Who Morocco Tours Are Designed For
Morocco suits couples, families with children aged 10 and above, and solo travellers joining group departures. The medinas of Marrakech and Fes have narrow cobblestone lanes that are not accessible by wheelchair. Contact us before booking if you have specific mobility requirements so we can assess which parts of any itinerary are accessible.
Morocco Tours FAQs

Seven to nine days covers the standard Morocco circuit: Marrakech, the Sahara, Fes, and Chefchaouen. Five days fits Marrakech and one other region. Eleven days adds the Atlantic coast, Casablanca, or the Draa Valley. Most first-time visitors find 7 to 8 days the most practical length.
Five-day private packages start from approximately 700 to 950 USD per person. Eight to nine-day packages cost 1,200 to 1,900 USD per person depending on hotel category and group size. Small group tours are approximately 20 to 25 percent less. Desert camp upgrades with private tents add to the base price. Contact us for a current quote with your specific dates.
Citizens of the US, UK, EU, Canada, and Australia do not require a visa for stays under 90 days. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your date of entry. Check your government's current entry requirements before booking.
Morocco's main tourist destinations operate with regular international tourism. Marrakech, Fes, Chefchaouen, and the Sahara region have active visitor populations year-round. The primary risk in the medinas is petty theft in crowded areas. Our tours use licensed private guides in all medina sections. Standard precautions apply.
The Erg Chebbi dunes are the most distinct landscape on the Morocco circuit. The drive from Fes is 6 to 7 hours. Most travelers find it the highlight of the entire trip. Alternatives include flying from Marrakech or Fes to Errachidia airport (1 hour) to reduce the road time. Contact us to check flight availability for your travel dates.
A riad is a traditional Moroccan house built around an interior courtyard, typically with a garden and fountain. Riads in Marrakech and Fes have been converted into boutique hotels, often with rooftop terraces. Most Morocco packages use riads in the medina cities and standard hotels outside them. Luxury riad upgrades are available in Marrakech and Fes on request.
Camel treks at Erg Chebbi are an optional add-on priced separately. The standard trek is a 1-hour sunset ride from the camp to a dune viewpoint. Longer treks can be arranged. Desert camp nights may include the camel trek in the package price; confirm on the specific tour page.
Private tours are fully adjustable for route, hotel category, duration, and departure date. We can add the Atlantic coast, Essaouira, Meknes, or Casablanca to any itinerary. Group tours run on fixed schedules. Contact us with your travel dates for a custom quote.
Lightweight layers work across Morocco's range of climates. The Sahara is hot during the day and cold at night from October through March. Modest dress is appropriate when visiting mosques and medinas: covered shoulders and knees for both men and women entering religious sites. Flat-soled walking shoes are essential for medina cobblestones. A warm layer for desert nights is necessary between November and February.
Yes. Solo travellers regularly join small group Morocco departures, which keep groups between 6 and 14 people. Riads frequently have single rooms. The social environment of a guided group suits solo travel well. Contact us for current small group departure dates with available single spaces.
